The Duke's Dilemma

By Nadine Miller

Pressed by his aunts to marry, the haughty Duke of Montford agrees to host a house party to meet some eligible young ladies. Recently orphaned Emily Haliburton, a scholar’s daughter, is coerced into traveling to the Montford estate as companion to her beautiful young cousin, one of the women selected as possible brides to the duke. While exploring the property, Emily meets a charming man who resembles the duke quite closely but seems quite different in personality, and starts to fall in love. The duke, who indeed has taken on this different persona and is masquerading as a commoner, is chagrined to realize that he is having trouble telling Emily the truth. He has been finding his encounters with Emily to be more fulfilling than any other relationship in his life.
