The Touch of Your Hand

By Christine Cassidy, Barbara Grier

The intent of this resource package is to disseminate and synthesize some critical existing knowledge concerning the ramifications of Stalin's so-called achievements. Neither definitive treatment nor closure of discussion are possible, given that fresh revelations of Stalin's crimes have been releaved since the breakup of the former Soviet Union in 1991. This package is not about how to conduct trials, however, it does attempt to provide semi-structured, factual raw materials that might be sufficient to a simulation effort for teachers who might be interested in a trial of J.V. Stalin. The package includes in the introduction some pedagogical suggestions for using materials in this document, 10 activity-modules which may require from one to four class periods and which can used in any order; 20 student reference sheets which provide data-bases for the lines of inquiry suggested in the activity-modules, and a bibliography.
